"They're Just Guidelines"
A Single Person's Guide to Marriage Rules
by C. Grubbs
The author, C. Anthony-Grubbs, lived a very content, single life for many years. She slipped comfortably into a companionship with a loving, thoughtful widower, which continued for nearly a decade. From time to time the question of marriage came up, but Chris always pushed the idea aside. Finally, this charming man won Chris over and they were married.
Over the next year or so, her new husband's sense of humor resulted in an ever-increasing list of rules for married life. From his point of view, he was the one with experience, thus it fell to him to 'educate' her on the finer points.
While most of the rules are comical – with a just few serious -- all are very illuminating for anyone starting down the matrimonial path. The book is the author's attempt to document those strange and laughable rules. She hopes the women will reap some insight, that the men will take away new support for their cause, and that single people will read and beware.
